Pre-Deals Privacy Policy
Last updated: [01/10/2026]
Your information
Pre-Deals is operated by Pre-Deals(GB) Ltd, at 318 Old Street, London EC1V 9DR. In the even of the cyber attack, state sponsored sabotage (proven or not) or any other attack, this operator is not-responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at cs@pre-deals.com with privacy questions or requests. This policy covers pre-deals.com and the Pre-Deals services associated with it.
Information we collect
Account information: your name, email address, account identifier, profile information, sign-in method and account status. If you register with a password, we store a password hash rather than a readable password.
Social sign-in: when you choose Google, Apple or Facebook, we receive the information that provider makes available with your permission, such as your provider account identifier, name, email address and profile picture. We do not receive your password for that provider. Apple may supply a private relay email address. Your provider separately handles information under its own privacy policy.
Verification information: your email address, telephone number, verification status and timestamps, verification attempts and service references. We send a six-digit email code and use SMS verification to confirm access to your contact details. Email codes are stored as protected digests, expire after ten minutes and are removed when successfully used. A successful verification confirms access to that email or phone; it does not establish your legal identity.
Marketplace information: saved deals, product requests, group commitments, purchases, delivery addresses, payment and refund references, invoices, shipment information, reviews, disputes and communications with us or other marketplace participants. For supplier accounts, this may also include business contact details and information supplied for supplier approval or fulfilment.
Technical and preference information: session identifiers, IP address, browser or device information, security events, cookie choices, notification preferences, consent records and legal-document acceptance records. We also keep operational events needed to understand transactions and maintain the service.
We obtain information directly from you, from the social sign-in provider you choose, and from service providers or marketplace participants involved in verification, payment, delivery, customer support or resolving a dispute. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in free-text requests or messages unless it is necessary for the matter you are raising.
Why we use information
Providing your account and marketplace services: we use account, verification and transaction information to register you, authenticate access, process commitments and orders, arrange payments and delivery, and provide support. Where applicable, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and performing our contract with you.
Security and service administration: we use limited account and technical information to prevent abuse, investigate suspicious activity, resolve disputes, maintain reliable services and keep appropriate operational records. Where applicable, we rely on our legitimate interests in protecting customers, suppliers and the platform, balanced against your rights.
Legal obligations: we retain and use information needed for applicable tax, accounting and other legal obligations, and to respond to lawful requests. We may also use relevant records to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, relying on the appropriate legal obligation or legitimate interest.
Optional marketing and tracking: where consent is required, we ask before sending optional marketing or using optional analytics, marketing or personalisation cookies. You can withdraw that consent. Transactional messages about verification, security or an order are separate from optional marketing. Essential operational transaction records do not depend on optional cookie consent.
Providing required account, verification, payment and delivery details allows us to deliver the relevant service. If you do not provide them, we may be unable to create or verify your account, process a purchase or fulfil delivery. Optional profile information and optional cookie choices are not required to browse the public site.
Who receives information
Authorised staff and providers supporting hosting, email delivery, SMS verification, payment processing and technical infrastructure may receive information needed for their roles. Further information about the service providers that receive your personal information is available on request by emailing cs@pre-deals.com. Provider access is limited to the information needed for the relevant service. Some providers also process information for their own legal, security or payment obligations.
Payment details entered into our payment provider's payment interface are handled by that provider. Pre-Deals receives payment status and transaction references needed to manage orders and refunds; we do not store your full card number or card security code.
We share information needed to fulfil an order with the relevant supplier and delivery provider, and information needed to respond to a request or dispute with the relevant participants. We may disclose information to professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement where legally required or necessary to protect legal rights. If the business is reorganised or transferred, relevant information may be transferred subject to applicable privacy requirements.
International processing
As of 1 October 2026, personal information processed for Pre-Deals services is kept in the United Kingdom. This statement describes our current arrangements.
As we expand, our intended approach is to keep personal information relating to users in each country within that country, in accordance with applicable local requirements. This is a future operating objective; it does not mean that local infrastructure is already available in every country or that local storage alone satisfies every legal requirement.
Before introducing processing or access outside the relevant country, we will assess applicable data-protection requirements, establish any required transfer arrangements, and update this notice to explain the processing locations and applicable safeguards. Further information about our processing arrangements and, where applicable, copies of transfer safeguards are available on request at cs@pre-deals.com.
How long we keep information
We keep information for the purpose for which it was collected and for additional periods where required by law or justified by an unresolved dispute or legal claim. Retention depends on the record, the status of your account or transaction, applicable tax and accounting requirements, limitation periods and security needs.
Account and preference information is retained while needed to operate your account. Closing an account does not automatically delete financial, legal-acceptance or dispute records. When an erasure request is approved, eligible account details are deleted or pseudonymised, while records that must be retained remain subject to their applicable retention requirements. Pseudonymised records may still be personal information. Copies in backups may remain until the relevant backup expires.
Email verification codes expire after ten minutes and are removed when successfully used. The cookie recording your cookie choices lasts up to one year unless you remove it or replace your choices. Other records are reviewed against the purposes and obligations described above. Contact us for the retention criteria applicable to a particular record.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies support sign-in, security, checkout and remembering your privacy choices. Optional analytics, marketing and personalisation cookie categories are off unless you choose them. Use Cookie settings on this page to review or change your browser's choices. Removing cookies in your browser may also remove saved preferences and sign you out.
You can manage account privacy and notification preferences in your account. Withdrawing optional consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing or processing based on another legal basis. Services reached through external links have their own privacy policies and cookie settings.
Your rights and requests
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access your information, obtain a copy, correct inaccurate information, request erasure, restrict processing, receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions; for example, we may need to retain a payment record even after account closure.
Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object based on your particular circumstances. You can object to direct marketing at any time.
Email cs@pre-deals.com to exercise your rights. You can also submit an available request through Account → Privacy. You do not need an active account to contact us. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your information. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we normally respond within one month; legally permitted extensions or exceptions will be explained to you.
If you have a concern, please contact us. You also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. In the EEA, you can contact your local supervisory authority.
Security
We use measures appropriate to the information and service, including restricted account access, protected passwords and verification codes, verification attempt limits, and controls around privacy requests. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep your sign-in credentials and verification codes private, and contact us if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
Automated decisions
Automated checks may reject expired verification codes, limit repeated attempts or prevent access to an unverified account. These checks help secure the service. If you believe a check has incorrectly blocked you, contact us for assistance. We do not describe verification of contact details as an identity check or credit assessment.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, processing arrangements or legal obligations. Minor editorial changes may take effect when the revised notice is published, without a separate notification. We will display the revised date. Where required by law, we will notify affected users of material changes before the relevant processing begins and obtain fresh consent where necessary. Updating this policy does not remove your rights or itself authorise a new use of your personal information.
